"Miageta" is in past tense, and there are several meanings for the word: "to look up at," or "to raise one's eyes," or "to admire." Oftentimes, the pronoun is omitted, and is just implied through context.
Also, a word is missing in the translation, "hikari," which means "light."
In other words, this is probably a better translation:
Miageta yozora hoshi-tachi no hikari.
(I) looked up (or: raised my eyes) at the light of the stars in the night sky.
