Well, it's more of a popularity contest, in my opinion, since you still want your friend to win and since most of the old users know each other quite well, it's going to be as much of contest sympathies, as of looks X)

Yup... but don't forget that even the physically most attractive people have bad angles to take pictures of them as well, so during a photo shooting they are still striking the poses they prefer to be seen from. It's the same with photo/video post-editing :P
Anywho, if you both don't like it- ignore it.
