I'd definately recommend Audition, it scared me a lot - a very impressive movie. Hostel-ish? I haven't seen Hostel but from what I hear it's an all out gorefest? About 90% of Audition doesn't have any violence or gore and personally, the gore and violence isn't what really scared me in this film.
