I was shipped out here on my own (not as a teacher) and have coped without any problems - not had a single ounce of home-sickness (although I am ultra-busy every day so probably just too tired to think of home haha!)
If you have doubts in your mind before going, maybe it's not a good idea at this point in time...it's quite a big commitment to move to another country. Maybe you would be best visiting as a tourist and see what you think first
