If you have depression, you are usually afraid to tell people or show anyone that you are feeling like that. Normally in social situations you
remain quiet and pretend you are fine. You don't go - oh woe is me! I am depressed!
Unless your talking to someone you really trust, and you want to get it off your chest, or perhaps even to people you don't know at all, because you don't really care if they know or not. The point I'm trying to make is,
people are rarely depressed in front or friends or loved ones, and it can go on for a long time without anyone knowing, and that's how it begins to spiral downwards until you realise you have this problem.
Though I don't know for sure, I've never had depression.
