After a month long marathon of the genre a while back and discovering a latent photographic memory I have stopped watching horror movies for the most part.
But I still remember some visuals from KWAIDAN (1964). Of the four segments of the movie, "Woman of the Snow" made a permanent visual and emotional imprint in my mind, and "In a Cup of Tea" is my other favorite segment.
It doesn't have the gore and mayhem of today's horror movies, but it sure made people uncomfortable for long time.
I keep trying to watch "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" because I like the story, but I haven't been able to sit through all of it yet. But then its Korean, not Japanese.
Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life. ********************* Find your voice; silence will not protect you.
