Incest and Gay Love. - 05-14-2008, 01:32 AM

Today in history class we were learning about George Bush.
And of course the topic of Gay Marriage popped up.
Gibbs ( Our teacher ) expressed how he agreed with the idea of no marriage for gays.
A few students asked what was wrong with it.
His response, " Is it right for me to marry my brother or sister?"

And then I said " You're comparing Gay love to Incest?"
And he goes " Yes because they are equally wrong, Is it right for me to marry my sister"
Me - " No because that child would have birth defects"
Him - " Gays cannot even have children, so why are they different?"
And then the bells rings.
I'm a bit shocked that someone actually compared incest to gay marraige.
I think there is no comparison.
I can't really quite word why incest is wrong but it is.

I always knew he was against the gays but I'm a bit shocked he feels that strongly.
Is he correct to you? Are incest and gay love equals?
Should he be getting away with expressing such an opinion to a whole class of students?
Let me add some of these students were gay and he did end up hurting their feelings a great deal.

I don't think he has the right to express that opinion in such a bashing way.
Not only did he upset myself. As I said earlier, the gays in the class were highly bothered.
It's okay for him say he doesn't agree with it.
But the way he expressed it with the incest comment was completely out of the line.
Hateful things like that are what lead to Gays getting killed.
And to the nonstop gay bashing.
High schoolers are naive and most of them well take those words and us them as an excuse to hate gay people.

I don't hate people into incest.
I don't agree with the sexual actions but love is love.
On that degree Gay and Incest are very alike.
But so are other forms of love. Including Hetero.
