I'd be scared to try natto. Let's say I'm in Japan and it is offered to me. I know it's rude to turn it down. I'd be scared that I just wouldn't like it. I've read that it's definitely an acquired taste and that even some Japanese don't like it.

That aside, I do wish I could go to a real sushi restaurant and a real raamen one.

Oh yeah, speaking of "non-Japanese" running Japanese like places. I was watching No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, and he went to a sushi restaurant in either Texas or New Mexico that was run and owned by a Chinese woman, and the sushi chefs were all Mexican. An interesting combination, eh?
