I read this thread a while ago and didn't really have a game in mind...
But I just recently played the demo for "Operation Darkness", and I have to say, it's a devil of a game. It's surprisingly tough in some areas, and easy to lose a main character near the end of a fight, causing you to start all over again. And being a turn-based strategy game, starting all over again is a
BIG deal.
One particular scenario had me up against a group of German soldiers and 2 tanks, a Panzer IV Infantry Support Tank and Panther Tank. It took me about 20 minutes to pick off the German soldiers, and by the time the tanks started blasting away at my position, I was already low on supplies.
I managed to last about another 20 minutes, throwing out all I had...
... Until my main character got caught in the open and flattened in a second.
