In your day to day routine, what ever you do or say in English, try to do it in Japanese. If you find that you are unsure of the grammar or a particular word, add this to you to do list.

If you are learning to write, it can be overwhelming with so many different characters. Pick a couple(whether 5 or 10) and write them out each day. It will really compound after you have done this for a month or so.

Pick a conversational Japanese language guide to practise real Japanese. Textbook Japanese is just that. You really want to be able to use your new found vocabulary in real situations to compound your learning.

A little bit each day as opposed to a whole day then nothing for the rest of the week is much better.
