No, it isn't.

A question for you:
What is the subject of this sentence?

There is no difference. Those are interchangeable.

Some grammarians may argue that どのくらい is a bit more formal than どれくらい, but one needs to take notice of the non-formal sentence ending なるの.

2b. 電話でホテルの予約を確かめる
All correct. As long as you are using the correct particles, Japanese word order is much more flexible than English. In fact, there is even no comparison.
