I too am from America so it would be Hi, Hello and Hey (though Hey is informal and depends on the tone when spoken) and waving
but that might be universal.

I think the longest word in English (or American English anyway) i think is a medical term: Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
(But it is sometimes debated)
