What time will you arrive in Tokyo on the first day?
I never flown in to anywhere else, but tokyo, yes it save sometime, but it shouldn't be too much of a difference consider flight change and waiting time and such..
For 12 days, this is what i will do
1. Land in Tokyo, Tokyo > Hiroshima
2. Miyajima, Hiroshima
3. Hiroshima > Osaka (you can stop by himeji if you want)
4. Osaka
5. Day trip to Kobe
6. Osaka > Kyoto
7. Kyoto
8. Kyoto, Kyoto > Yokohama
9. Yokohama
10 Yokokama >Tokyo
11. Tokyo
12. Tokyo
If you are not too tired on the second day, you can travel to Osaka after ou are done.. that will save you some time.. if you want to fit an onsen resort in between, give yourself 2 days and fit in between Kyoto and Yokohama. I would skip kobe, cut Kyoto to 2 days and yokohama to 1 day to accomodate that...
