Witchlade - the Anime
 

Okay, so I haven't really seen much of a discussion over this anime, so I thought I'd start one for it.
Witchblade, hopefully you know about the main story - ancient symbiotic weapon chooses a wielder in every generation, etc, etc. Wielders always a woman, and the Witchblade itself is a psychotic killing machine. I think we get the idea;) .
But what are your opinions on the transition from US comic to both a manga and anime? Does it stay true to the original story/theme? And what about the characters?

Theirs also one other thing, also relating to the character's - have the artists gone slightly overboard in making this a T&A (if you need a translation, please ask. I don't want to cause any trouble on this forum:mtongue: ) anime? ANy thoughts would be welcome.

And one other thing (I know, I know. I really shouldn't keep doing that...) - no spoilers please. I haven't got alll the way through the anime. Yet.

I love the anime (I finshed it but I won't spoil anything). I haven't read the comic or the manga yet, but even before the anime came out I've heard about I've just never bothered to read it until now after seeing the anime. I don't know if you're watching the edited verison or not because I know the orignal designs of the anime are the comic and manga which is obviously very reveling.

I'm watching the un-edited version. For obvious reasons... my local store cannot get me the DVD's, but will be getting the manga in for me. So I'll let you know how 'silly' they are when I can...

OMG that anime is soo....you know, but besides the TnA & the girl on girl back plot its an alright show. I believe they tried a live action show about it on SciFi but it didn't go so well.

Yeah, they did try a live action show but it never really got as big as people wanted it too.

Cookies! Now I've really got to watch the anime. I've only read the manga and it's only two books. So how many versions of Witchblade are there? The manga said that there's also an original American comic version. Have any of you seen it?

The american comic and the Manga/anime only have one thing in common - the wicthbalde symbiote. But from what I've seen, its still a violent and 'guy-friendly' as the anime.
