anime poser??? - 09-19-2008, 03:53 AM

my friend told me she went to a anime store and she bought what she had to buy.when she went to pay for her things the guy in the register ask her if she liked anime or if she was an anime poser.

now i have no clue what an anime poser is.i didn't even know those existed.

does anyone have an idea or clue what an anime poser is?
(one of my friends said that it was a person who cosplays everyday.another one of my friends said that it was a person trying to act as if they liked anime...but why act if you don't like it..?)

Personally speaking, your friend should have told the employee to take his/her money, process the sale, and not engage in speculation.

Poser or not, money is money. The employee must have been bored at work.

Fortunately, there is one woman in this world who can control me.

Unfortunately for you, she is not here.

I would think an anime poser would be someone who tries so hard in liking anime (even if they don't have a particular interest on it just because their friends do) also to fit in with his/her friends who likes anime.

believe it or not there are people out there who act like they're soooooo in love with anime when they're not.

irregardless though, what the guy at the register said was unecessary.

neither of you should take it too personally or think about it too much. it's a waste of your time.

an anime poser is someone who says they like anime but have no idea what the hell it is.

Does that even exist? Because who would want to be labeled as a nerd? I just think that guy was trying to look all high and mighty because he already saw all the Gundam series or something...

I'm a nerd. And a Geek. I play D&D and find these terms to be compliments actually
As for the store clerk/cashier/'dude': maybe he shouldn't have asked this, but maybe he was just trying to get some friendly conversation going. Either way, you are who you are. No-one can change that fact.
