***Dark/Action Anime***

I've watched the following (or atleast all of the episodes out right now, that is):
Vampire Knight
Code Geass
Death Note
Blood Plus
Devil May Cry
Hellsing

I'm still pretty new to anime and I'm having a hard time finding really good action, dark, or vampire animes. Does anybody have a favorite they'd like to share?? Your help would be more than appreciated!

The background is in the distant future after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between the vampires and the humans continue to persist. In order to protect the humans from the vampires, Vatican has to rely on other allies to counter the situation. The protagonist, a priest called Peter Abel Nightroad, travels through the countries as a representative for the Vaticans. However, he is also part of "Ax", a special operations group controlled by the Cardinal Catherina. His encounter with a young girl called Esther will determine the struggle and survival between the human race and the vampires.

The two quickly discover that the Kowloon Children who survived the Holy War are seeking to infiltrate the “Special Zone”—a thriving city protected by an invisible barrier that will not allow Kowloon Children entrance—unless they’re invited. Red Bloods refer to the humans; Black Bloods are the vampires, and the Mochizuki Brothers are Old Blood—the last descendants of an elite clan of vampires. When Kotaro is abducted by one of the Kowloon Children, Jirou has no choice but to fight once more.

and for an action, try Full Metal Panic! it's got some mecha like Code Geass (but they're a lot cooler looking XD) it's got 3 seasons, the last of which is definently the best

Sousuke Sagara, a seventeen year old military specialist working for the secret organization MITHRIL, has been assigned to protect the latest "Whispered" candidate Kaname Chidori. To complete this task Sousuke will have to deal with enemies from his past as well as the occasional panty thief. Unfortunately for Sousuke, the toughest part of his mission isn't only protecting Miss Chidori but also getting used to living an average High School students life, no easy task for someone raised on the battlefield.

I can recommend this:

Night Head Genesis - it's story about 2 brothers with specific abilities (psychokinesis and telepathy). It's full of mystery and mystic, psychology and 'silent action' (don't know how you treat this kind but I suppose you may like it)

Petshop Of Horrors - 4 little stories about count D who sell animals look much as people. If you don't implement a treaty after-effects will be unavoidable (a good thing in dark style but a little roughly)

Pumpkin Scissors - much like Full Metal Panic! made by the same studio. If you like FMP, you'll like this one, too.

Try Neon Genesis Evangelion, it's a classic but it has awesome fights with mechs and there are movies too (End of Evangelion being the most dark). The music is by Yoko Kanno too which means - awesome battle music.

I'd say Elfen Lied.

It's very gory but it has an amazingly well composed storyline. And lots of action.
