According to the online Japanese dictionary, hentai means metamorphosis or abnormality, while hentaiseiyoku means abnormal sexuality. However, according to one of the references to hentai on wikipedia; one in particular: The 'H does not mean hentai' page, this guy, Kamagi made a big fuss about the whole subject. The only thing that I thought to be true is that hentai is sometimes an abbreviation for hentaiseiyoku. Other than that, I said to myself on everything else while reading all the pages: "Unless you are actually in Japan and you actually saw how the adult Anime, manga, etc. is labled in places where they have Anime.... I will not believe you."

So mebbie I can have someone actually from Japan, who can speak english to tell me what is correct and whether all that Kamagi had on his page is true or not. Arigato gozaimasu!

He is correct in the fact that hentai is an adjective, not a noun. If you go to a video store, there is not a "hentai" section. They will have an "adult" section, and some of the titles that you find extra-perverted might be "hentai" to you (sexually extreme) and some of it may not.
