He was a Legend to say the least. With some of his works being my favorites as well as some of the most well known Animes in the world. He will definitely be missed.

This is sad news...he was only 57...

I did hear about this, and it does sadden me. I'm an artist myself, and its depressing to see such talent (not very old talent) die out before its time.

I now have to break the news to my friend who is a huge fan of him. He pretty much sold his soul to him, I too am a fan of Kiki's Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke.

You've got to be kidding me!!
Why do the best animators always die at such a young age?

Rest in peace... may your legacy live on in your works.
