Bi-langual subtitles?

Heyo,

Wouldn't it be cool to have english subtitles for an anime but with maybe one word in every subtitle "frame" also put in japanese maybe in parenthesis or something.

Anyone heard of something like this?
What do you think of this idea?

Well sure! This way Japanese would actually be learned by those who teach themseves by anime!

You'd still have to study grammar a lot, you know...

I know places where you can download Japanese subtitles for certain J-dramas and anime, and if you have the right video player you can display multiple subtitles at once (though, that's not gonna be helpful if you only focus on the English ones...)

On the Erin ga chousen show website, you can turn on Natural Japanese, kana, romaji, and English subtitles. It's a program to help foreigners learn Japanese so they talk pretty slow.

That's all I can think of like what you're talking about ;)

That's what I'm sayin'! People who learn by anime don't seem to believe that!
