Anime/Manga Convention in Tokyo, and when is it? I plan on doing Tokyo Game Show and Tokyo Auto Salon again like last year, but I want to know if there's any other events like these. I'm trying to hit all of the major events.

I remember one at the end of March... I thinks it's Tokyo International Anime Fair....

When I was there in '05, I left the Friday before it opened....

Sometimes those things aren't open to the public here in the States.... Trade fairs are only open to the trade. But I think there's no distinction in Japan. Perhaps one day it may be open to the trade only, but I recall the public being able to attend all those types of conventions. I'm sure the Japanese side of the site may reveal more info....

It's common to have a press day and public days for most events, even in Japan. America has some exclusive conventions, but the one's I've been to in Japan (or heard of) have always had public days.

And that's one thing that makes Japan different: they let the public to all of them. I remember that E3 was only a trade show and that angered many of the people I know who are gamers....
