When I first saw the title of this post, I was like "WTF! O_O?"

But when I kept reading, I understood that limegreen was just wondering, if it is overrated or not.
When I hadn't heard about DN, and my friend came and told me that how great anime/manga that is, I wondered that "what is so great about some monsters?" (I had only seen a picture of Ryuk back then :'D) Then one day I accidentally ran to this anime, when my another friend lent me a dvd in which was supposed to be another anime episodes (2x2=shinobuden, very good anime, though quite pervert :'D) but there was DN episodes instead. I decided to watch them, and fell in love. ^^ I like those kind of mind games that DN is full of them.

I like fierce fighting scenes too, though..
So, I have to say (this has been said before in conversation about this post) that reading a manga and watching anime are totally different experiences. They both give something different than the other, and I think that althought DN anime is long compared to manga, but it still isn't boring or anything. To me it's just as interesting as manga, but it's just different.
The thrill, the artwork, the plot, the music in anime and the characters. I can proudly say, that I love Death Note, both manga and anime. It always gives something new, no matter how many times I read/watch it.
DN gets many different kind of opinions, because it's different. I think. I haven't ran into anything like this, so it's only natural that I think this way.

So this is only my opinion about the thing. I don't think it's overrated. ;D
