Wikipedia is a good site for reading about Anime on, there's usually loads of spoilers and links to related sites.

There well prolly be spoilers in this post

Oh yay.
There's already a thread.

For those of you who've yet to understand Paranoia Agent you need to watch it over >> and over.
It's an extermly symbolic anime and I can only explain so much.
All of the characters suffer from realistic mental illnesses.
Brought on them due to the strains and criticism that humans put on each other.
There's a variety of themes featured in the anime, here are some.

-Society pulls down society.
-Everyone is insane.
-Madness is the reality ( This is the most obvious one. At the end as Maromi consumes everyone. Maromi is the madness and as you can see everyone is apart of it. Our world is shaped out of madness that's hidden by the word " reality". )
- We all have an obsession
- It's very easy to lose your identity to yourself.
- The difference between reality and fantasy is the fact that reality is more accepted and fantasy is pleasing and taboo.

There's way more I could list.
You really have to pick at Paranoia Agent and watch carefully.
Once you get it , it's like a brain slap or something. It's amazing.
I really suggest it to anyone who's into deep thinking and solving puzzles.

There is also another underlying thing in there.
When someone thinks they see something or thinks
something has happened to them and they explain
this to someone else and that person hears it over and over
they begin to see it too and pass it on until everyone is
starting to see and believe in something that is not there.
Its a mind trick, you hear something so much you begin to see it.
And with all the mental illnesses in the show, it
added to it lol.

Love PA and i wish it was still airing on adult swim.

Like I said society pulls down society.
We're all such subjects to each others influence.
It's only 13 episodes. Download or buy it.
Pretty sure they took it off so quick because to many people weren't watching it.
People just give up on meaningful things like Paranoia Agent. They want to be entertained not think.
Personally to me thinking is entertaining.

Yeah i agree with you.
I was really interested in that show
because it gave me a different outlook
in things and i could get involved with it because
it made me think.
And when adult swim announced they would stop
airing it because not enough people were
watching it, they just added to the fact that
people are in love with mindless entertainment,
anything except something that will make them think.

I really liked the idea of the show...I was confused, though, but like EveV said, you have to watch it over and over and that's exactly what I did. I must say, it was a little depressing, though. Every time something bad happened I was like, "Nooo!!!" I was literally yelling at the screen...that is when I was awake and paying attention. I mostly watched it going to bed. [I have to have a tv or radio on when I go to sleep, or I get freaked.] But yeah, I loved the complexity, hated the gloomyness. And the mental illnesses made it even better. I'm all into psychology and stuff. I really wanted to take psychology class next year but the stupid school's a dorky schedule-ruin-upper. D=
