Well, the difference between "j'ai eu un lapin" and "j'avais un lapin" is the same as in english : "I used to have a rabbit" and " I had a rabbit". In the second case, ther's more a notion of time precisely, than in the first cas. " in the past , I used to have a rabbit", "two years ago, I had a rabbit".

Autrefois, j'avais un lapin. et il y a dix ans j'ai eu un lapin. voilà les amis, à bientot!

Thanks for the help.
I was wondering if anyone could please check some of my french for me.

J’avais decide de faire mon dans une université parce que je pensais que ce serait utile pour moi. J’ai fait mon stage dans une université, c’etait chouette mais toujours la même chose. J’y ai travaillé pendant une semaine. Je commences à neuf heures. J’y suis allée en voiture. Je devais chercher le courrier. Mes collègues étaient vraiment amicaux. Ce serai três utile pour moi dans l’avenir. Pendant mon stage j’appris que pour être professeur il faut être organisée. On m’a dit que travailler dans une université serait barbant mais je l’ai trouvé super utile. Après avoir fait mon stage, j’ai decidé que j’irai á l’université pour étudier les langues.

After reading your question i realised that i forgot most of the french i studied for the past ten years. What was the form of the verb in the two sentences? I really forgot

I think it's past, but I don't really understand which forms of a verb are which.

The first sentence is Imparfait and the second one is Participe Passe.
