"La conférence des maires des États-Unis vient donc de voter une résolution appelant les municipalités à abandonner progressivement l'eau en bouteille."

Can someone translate that for me please?

"The conference of mayors of the U.S. is to vote on the named resolutions for municipalities to abandon sales of bottled water."

...would be my guess.

The mayors of the United States had a conference vote to ask towns to get rid of bottled water.

i think that's right... although it was a bit hard to translate? XD
