here is a funny riddle ,hope you'll enjoy solving it,

I start with the letter e, I end with the letter e. I contain only one letter, Yet I am not the letter e! What am I?

on or off; the signals pass
fleeing one way very fast

on a green carpet to which there is Si
you hope i won't wonder "who am I?"

whirring around me when i get hot
water's a thing I fear a lot

your eyes which see me will surely impair
i really hope you do take really good care

light flowing down miles of glass
under water so violent a place to pass

this is the link you all want and need
you just cannot find the signal indeed

words are there in forms and sums
but you need 0 to start, or was it one?

actually... eye would be right as well.. it meets all the requirements. In fact... eye would be more right than an envelope because and envelope could contain more than one letter.
