Evident/Evidence Medication/Medicine - 05-08-2011, 09:34 AM

Hi, could someone kindly explain to me the differences between "Evident/Evidence" and "Medication/Medicine"?

evident -> adjective; clear, easy to notice or see, obvious
evidence -> noun; the item or information which is used as proof

medication and medicine can often be used interchangeably, both nouns
medicine also refers to the field of education, "He studies medicine"
medication also refers to regularly taken medicine, "Mom forgot to take her medication again today"

Thanks RealJames. So I assume that I can also say:

Have you taken your medicine?

Have you taken your medication?

Did the doctor prescribe you medicine?

Did the doctor prescrible you medication?

Did your doctor prescribe some medicine (for your illness)?
The form you have written (for the doctor/medicine) kinda sounds odd for me, but I'm not a native english speaker.

Reverse psychology, "dear Watson", reverse psychology.
"Manganese? Is that manga language?" - lol?
