Japanese hero in new English book
Japanese hero in new English book :mtongue:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- :mtongue: :ywave: Hi, I don't usually read English books but I came across "The Mystery of Yamashita's Map" by James Mckenzie. It is due to be published soon but I was able to get an advance copy from amazon. It is fantastic! The hero is Japanese and and the story left me with a good warm feeling, I felt proud. It makes a change from Japanese always being seen as the bad guys. The author has TEFL and used to teach English in HongKong so he understands our ways and culture. The book is very well written. Believe it or not, it has helped my English grammar. It must be popular in the UK as it reached No. 3 in amazon hot pre-release chart. Incidently, the author comes from Aberdeen Scotland, home of Thomas Glover. Five stars. I really liked it.:ywave: |

Read English books
:mtongue: :ywave: satoshi
I do a lot of reading, mostly English books. I have found that it helped lots. Watch English movies, and then practice in the mirror. then no one can hear you. so you won't be embarrassed.:mtongue: :ywave: |
It's good to see there are Japanese people interested in European culture.
I'll help you with anything you want... my spelling and grammar is good! but apparently there are already plenty who will already...:D |

Although i know English I'm not very good as a teacher:o but here is some good advice. Watch English movies(without subtitles) and listen to a lot of English music and try to sing along correctly. It helped me alot.

Greetings. Think you handle english pretty well though. Better than I did when I was a beginner. An advice that worked very well for me: play online games in english :D (works perfectly if you like games). And as others already have said; watch english movies without subtitles or with english subs and easy books ofcourse (could be a book that you have read in japanse before, then its easier to understand in english). Can try teach you some too if you would like, could even teach some swedish too if you would have interest in that :) Im online pretty much so just give a hint or add my msn :) And welcome to JF :D

I'd be more than happy to help as well as everyone else here seems to be.
