no problem
in french when you meet someone you can say "bonjour" (goodmorning) or "bonsoir"(goodevening) depending on the period of the day. When you leave you say "Au revoir" (litterally: to see you again).
In Italy when you meet s.o. you say "Buongiorno" (goodmorning) or "Buonasera" (goodevening), while when you leave you can say "Arrivederci".
These as far as the formal way is concerned.

If you are interested in the informal way too, in french you can say "Salut" when meeting and leaving. In italian you say "Ciao" when meeting and "Ciao" or "Ci vediamo"(see you) when leaving.

How long have you been studying Japanese?
