Hello, I am completely new to this forum.

I have always secretly been in love with japan, and all Japanese culture related things, but have never really gotten into them. But then I stumbled across this forum, and got very excited. It is like an overload of information that I can't deal with...

But, in march, I am going to Japan, with school, but mostly my friends are coming. This trip has prompted my need for knowledge in everything Japan.
Is there anyway you guys can refer me to the essential (and this is gonna sound pretty retarded) Japanese music, comics, and shows...
I know thats pretty vague, but like, through this forum, I was introduced to Miyavi, who I am totally in love with from seeing one video, yet so confused... its just so vast(japanese culture that is) that I have no idea where to start.
