Why did you want to learn Martial Arts? - 01-01-2008, 07:14 AM

Why did you want to learn Martial arts? or what inspired you to attend classes or teach yourself?.

When I was around 7 I was sent to live with this older guy (I'm not going to give his name) he owned a Karate dojo. Since I came to live with him he taught me Karate up till I finished and got my black belt, which was at the age of 9. Even after I was done I still continued to study different fighting styles cause it was something I was passionate about. I use to stay up to watch the Bruce Lee marathons they showed way back then and deep down I wanted to fight this guy Hahahahahaha! funny seeing how he was dead >_<. I thought it was a waste losing a great fighter like Bruce Lee. When I was done with Karate I started teaching myself Tae Kwon Do, soon after I joined a Tae Kwon Do dojo after earning enough money >_< I was good at it I passed with ease. Then I started Aikido and Kempo at the same time when I went into High school. I skipped a few Grades in high school, when I was suppose to be a freashman I was a Junior and when I was suppose to be a Sophmore I was already going to graduate as a senior. School was easy cause all you did was learn just like my Martial Arts Hahahaha! but I wasn't a good kid. I did drink and do a fair amount of drugs but it never affected my schooling cause 10 minutes and I'm don'e with homework and then its Party TIme!!. Hahahahaha Thats how it was all the way untill I got into trouble and I was Drafted into the Marines where I now Teach my Martial Arts and travel around to learn more.
What about you guys? What have you accomplished? and what made you want to learn Martial Arts?.
