I think that the people who give out these awards, namely the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are fully aware of the content and quality of these pictures as well as why they are awarding them... you are not voting for them, then why would they bother themselves with pulling out promotion campaigns?

Next thing- these movies are mostly targeted for markets other than US and the general public outside the correspondent markets are rarely able to fully understand and appraise the movie.... not even to mention the general bluntness of the US movie industry and demand of brainless trash by the public, which although is greatly accepted in foreign countries, but is often overshadowed by the works of local movie industry... and not without a reason, you know

And in the end- If you are interested in foreign movies, i guess there are many places where you can read the news of both the domestic (US) and foreign movie industries... if you are not interested in these kind of things, then why on earth do you worry about lack of promotion of these movies in the states anyways?

I’ve not seen ONE of the nominated movies this year =( But I'm really happy for Javier Bardem, I didn't think he'd get the Oscar cause of the comments he made on president Bush xP but I'm glad I was wrong.

Pd- Foreign movies tend to be better than super Hollywood productions.

Well I would like to see that foreign film called the Counterfeiters, it looks interesting. & that animated film that that lady did herself about some disease she has. That should of got an Oscar too.
But back on the american side Juno (from what I saw of it) is really a good movie. Ellen Page isn't that bad of an actress either, I've seen her in X-Men: The LAst Stand & Hard Candy.

I don't watch it, cuz I've got three kids and a cat that take over all the t.v.'s in the house.....so I don't get to watch. I only hear about the winners when I listen to the radio.
