I'm mildly offended by questioning the importance of maths! . I can only agree with you that number theory has no relative use in the practicle world...

Aside from this, I'm happy that many of you have shared your stories! It's a shame that it just isn't so easy to become what you want... I'm quite surprised that quite a few of you wanted to be archaeologists, never sprung to mind...

Everything we use today is the result of a study more or less mathematical .. not only electronics but the advantage of maths is that almost all the problems can be solved ...Im in Bioinformatics at the university lol ... and I am not a big fan of math ...
