I saw a really good documentary on General (I think) Dellaire. The Canadian officer who lead the UN mission in Rwanda. It's called "Shaking Hands with the Devil".
Basically it tells the story of how the World failed the country. You can watch it in parts on youtube I think...

The recent warring in Rwanda was between two tribes, Hutu and Tutsi. Both settled in Rwanda from different parts of Africa.

Erghem...wow. Two very different conversations going on in this thread.
 If anyone is interested in learning about the Rwanda genocide, Hotel Rwanda is a must-see. A very powerful film and a true story. I don't think I've seen a movie that shook me up as much as that one... Murasaki iro no hana Haru no hana To fuyu no koyuki Harahara
