Are you into labels ?? - 04-14-2008, 12:49 PM

i used to be into them big-time i always used to wear the latest designer gear and walk round with a shitload of jewelry. I always wore versace etc until one day sum1 said haha dont u know versace is a homo

i didnt really care that he was a homo but i did think man im wearing this shit but i dont know why - now i dont wear any designer gear i think its so lame that someone would walk around with someone elses name on them its ridiculous - i mean if im gonna walk round with someones name might as well be my own right ??

so now when i see anyone dressed in designer gear i always think its a little pathetic !

Even if you don't dress in designer clothing people will find some kind of label. Someone will find a label to put on you. For example, clothing since you were on that topic, if you don't wear designer fashions you are considered a loser or poor. We should all know that when we were in high school their are several issues that make people label us.

Issues:
Money
Social Skills
Clothing
Music

If you don't stay in your group then you are bullied to no end. Labels at this put turn into stereotyping and your appearance gets brought into it. For me it was that I was not dressed femine enough so they tried putting makeup on me and I got so mad that I almost broke her finger for that. Some of them said they were going to kidnap me and get me designer fashions so I could look like them. They claimed to be my friends but they weren't. Most everyone in my high school years was trying to change me not let me be. I felt like crap half the time so I did not care about keeping up on the last fashions. I started carrying what I looked like in college but after I dropped out I dress to please my husband. I also make my own choices on what I wear instead of my mother making them for me, so I feel better about myself. I am a person that does not let others tell me how to dress or act. I take care of myself and mind my own business.

I am comfortable with certain labels, and am uncomfortable with others.

And word to the wise: high school never ends, the buildings just get bigger and the people just get older.

I'm like you. I do NOT wear designer clothes that advertise the designer. I wear what I think is cute and don't pay too much money for it. I prefer the fashion sense of those with their own styles instead of those whose style is just wearing some line of clothing and accessories.

Good for you! I think this is how it should be for everyone.

Sometimes more expensive or better known DOES mean better. One of the things I miss about American cities is the vintage/resale shops. There are certain brands I love because they last and last. Polo especially has served me well. It usually takes me three or four years to wear out Polo stuff. Same with Lacoste. What I own of Burberry has also treated me well, so I tend to go ahead and pay the money, because I have come to expect a certain quality... and they tend to have a better costumer service policy if something goes wrong. I have two Louis Vuitton bags as well, and I know from previous experience that LV will take care of you if something goes completely arry in a short amount of time.

I buy my clothing from Wal-mart where they are inexpensive. I like the clothing for I can be creative in my dress with the cloths.

Ehh, its like .. If you buy your clothes from wal-mart someone can say "haha you buy inexpensive clothes" Now if you buy epensive clothes someone can say "haha you spent all that money for clothes that wont be in style a year from now" So your screwed no matter what

And that's why I try not to buy from the store itself. I try to go to vintage shops near large college campuses where vapid coeds have sold what Daddy just bought them at Saks for beer money.

I wish I was overexaggerating: I'm not.

Ano...
But if it means:
more expensive clothes are better..
who cares?..
i mean...i don't care if my clothes got a label XD.
My producer takes care of the clothes not, I.
I don't wear those expensiiiiive clothes mostly when i wear something like that people just look at me their fance turn pakle and shake their heads.
So i just dress like everyone else.
Normal.
Not tomany expensive clothes.
And if i want to buy a shirt or something else around that.
I'll make it myself.
='3.

I said sometimes it means, not that it always means. I've tried brands before that didn't work out and I will never purchase them again. Because they're the same made-in-china crap that I can find anywhere.
