The cat I mentioned has also been with me since I was nearly 2 years old. I am 21 now, and she is 20. It is a shame she is in Australia and I am in Thailand, she will die soon but I will not get a chance to say goodbye.

That is not the same. Look at the nature of men. They collect things, organize things, try to build a little castle out of their house, are technical and strategical. Different men will do things in different ways, but each man has his conquest he must fullfill. Even peace corps are a battle of their own kind which use strategy and organization similar to the Army. They have an objective and goal, make sacrafices and must bear the brunt of their failure. From being a computer wiz to a disco dancing guru, to skateboards or fashion and peace corp and war, every man has his indiviual campaign he must wage. It is natural, it is the way nature has forged our species and is an instinct that drives us forward; competition - all animals do it on different levels.

The difference is humans do it in so many different ways, even if it is all the same concept. But that does not change; some men will, and always will be born to pursue the Way of the fighter. Some people make the choice they will not harm innocent when they fight, others are not so virtuous. But, given the competative nature of men, polititians will always flex their muscles, religous leaders will preach their BS, and men will rise to fight for them. That is natural. There is nothing wrong with joining a peace corp and trying to help people in need, but it is a different story trying to change the nature of man.

You should not forget we are a part of nature. That is; if you ever managed to convince man to, under no circumstance, engage in violence, then it is not because you have instilled virtue, as you think, but it is because you have destroyed his nature, and the species will start to become weak. I'm not saying we should strip this society of violence.
As nice as it sounds, it would never happen and it might be a tad bit boring.
But we really need to reach a balance.
The hate and violence in this world seems to swallow all good.
We either need to increase the good or fewer the amount of bads.
However, there are plenty of people who would disagree with me.
Even though I feel right, I'm not about to say I am.

It was sad hearing about what the Iraqi police and military have to go through. The general stereotypical perception is that they are 'American puppets' - although they may just want to keep law and order in their country...

But frankly, I feel that it is high time the US moves out of Iraq - too many people are dying there for no reason.

I don't think there as pumped as in 2003, then people just wanted to go into action and when they returned they started to think about what is going and the current situation.
I'm for the war, maybe not for certain people but for the war.
Right now its all about finding and leaving a balance that both Iraq and the U.S. can live with but I don't see them dying with out any purpose.
Many have died for clean water, Tvs, Radios, Cars, Schools, fresh food, just the little things that make life for people here barable.

I'm logical, I know that's not possible.

It's about the effort.

It'll help those in need more.

There are people out there who don't know anything but oppression and suffering.
And yea I can't save them all but at least I gave someone else out there an extra day to be just be.. happy.
