Well, when you guys enroll in the army you know you may be going to war, it shouldn't come as a surprise! It's like cops that complain everytime they have to shoot someone and get depressed and go all drama-queen on their Boss's arse! I mean, hey they signed up to use their weapons, if you can't do it just go back home and find a job that suits your attitudes!

I know in most cases money is involved in this choice but still, don't do it if you can't take the consequences.

Ps- After this, I gotta say I find soldiers to be the sexiest men in the world, out of the equation. Military uniforms get me drooling like an idiot.

I think you've missed my point, Suki. Forgive me.

It's not that a soldier isn't prepared to fight. It's that, generally, he (or she) doesn't choose the circumstance of the fight.

There were soldiers in the military when 9/11 happened. They didn't get a chance to choose whether they thought the cause was "right" or not. They were going to war, regardless.

A Soldier is a Soldier. The epitome of "Action over Words".

That’s right, but if you decide to join the Army you have to be prepared to face the consequences it may lead to, because no one can tell how things will eventually turn out.

Soldiers knew long before the Iraq War broke out that they might be sent to war sometime in the future.

Military men nowadays are not like they used to be. I’m sorry to say -.- Those who are currently fighting in Iraq are nothing like the ones who fought back in WWII. Now it’s all different motives… it doesn’t mean they deserve no admiration whatsoever (killing isn't something anyone can do ^^) and shouldn’t be given whatever recognition they want to get from whomever, but if they were to stand up for the rights of their people (which is what they are meant to fight for, right?), they wouldn't care what situations they get put into, they would go to war no matter what because they supposably believe in what they are doing and think there is a justified reason for it.

Ps. And in case you were wondering, I'm the biiiiggest war-movies geek out there, and I take much pride in it xD

I don't think it's fair to compare WW2 and Iraq. Not only was the world an entirely different place but the conflicts were of an entirely different nature.

Also I believe that it is not a soldier's job to justify the fight to himself. It's the people that lead him. Sure he is supposed to fight for his country. But more importantly he has to believe in what his government and generals are doing.

Sun Tzu wrote this hundreds of years ago in his book "The Art of War". A book still referred to in military academies across the world.

What cause it that Suki? there are many good marines who can handle blood and guts and there are those who can't, those who can't bail out after the five month training program. They know fully well what they are getting into and it is there personal choice, when you get into a fight you know there will be pain for both sides. I agree though many familys are sending younger and younger boys in the miltitary just because they think its honorabl but in fact they have to look at the future out come in doing so and the fact that they might not ever see there children nor spouse ever again. People are soft today speacially vegans and those who don't know how to work, everyone now days have comfy lives and they don't fight to survive. That is our down fall, there are catigorys soldiers are put into many are based where the soldier grew up, his grades and background ect.
Just the other day I was helping out in the recoup there was this guy who's face was half burnt off and a leg missing, you would think he was down and out but he was happy. Happy to go home and happy to see the people he fought for, Hahahahahahaha! he was even happy when they gave him a fake leg XDDDD it sounds sad maybe but its not. He's a caveman, a leatherneck and nothing will get him down.

Hahahahahahaha are you kidding?, anyone can kill its just a matter of training so are you saying people in world war II were better than people in Veitnam? or in the war now?.
Everyone thinks this war is joke and that the WMDs (weapon of Mass Destruction) aren't real when in fact we know it is there, you know why. Cause the U.S. sold it to Iraq, that is our proof. Something given to another country to protect themselves was turned on us and we were threatend by them and so we have to take action. You can't turn a blind eye to these things Suki, you need to stop watching movies and look around at the world it may be depressing but its life. I see where you are coming from though, its not really flattering when your son or daughter comes up to you and says "Dad/Mom I'm going to joing the military and kill people for you and our country" XDDDDDDD.

Yes sir I am well I'm not high up there but I do teach and train incoming marines during the five month training time as well as weapons but right now I'm taking it easy and going to school to get my Phd in computer enginering seeing how my time with the Marine Corps is almost at its end.
