Cities are infested with deadly chemicals swarming all around the air.
If you're so worried about what you're inhaling then move to fresh air area.

Most places here have sections for people to smoke so nonsmokers don't have to put up with it.
And you can't call people inconsiderate if you didn't approach them and kindly ask them to smoke somewhere else.
Not saying you did or you didn't.
Sometimes people don't realize they are bothering others.
As I stated earlier, if I ever ask them to smoke elsewhere they become rude and agressive. But that's just the twats in my school. Our city is apparantly the greenest city in the UK according to statistics in a national newspaper. So I think I personally SHOULD be worrying about cigarette smoke more. Nothing else gives you such a high risk of lung cancer, it's not like I go sticking my nose up car exhausts. There is no chance I could move from the city [I'm not really anywhere near the city centre.] because of my education. Universities are only in cities usually.

Also, why the fuck should I have to move because someone wants to smoke? If they want to pollute themselves, thats their choice, but polluting me isn't.

It's a two way thing - smokers say, if you don't like our smoke then move, non-smokers say why do we have to move because you have such a filthy habit that we decided not to take up?

Just so you all know what I think your saying.
Why is that always the case? If you want to smoke, then YOU go elsewhere. Why is it that smokers always say if you don't like it go away? Why do all the non-smokers have to make way for something like that?

In the old days they would have told you to go somewhere else if you did not like it.
Haven't you heard that line from someone else. I was taught to grin and bare it by my adopted parents.
Why not? Why can't we just live with things and stop complaining.
Let people kill themselves instead of trying to save everyone from smoking.
That is just like the drug wars, against illegal drugs that is going no where.
I keep up on politic and know that most of the laws are just there because someone complains and everyone is made to follow the same laws. I say leave people alone and let them do what they want.

I respect your opinions.
Look at it as if you where told you where not allow to be staight because someone complained about straight people. How would you feel?

You are a confused person. Not only is being "straight" not in the same context as smoking WHATSOEVER but using the drug wars example is also totally irrelevant. The war on drugs exists mostly because the drugs that come in from other countries, fuel those countries' economies. I could explain the whole thing to you but that would take time out of my life for something which has nothing to do with smoking.
If you want to smoke then go ahead. Noone cares.
If your kids or whoever end up being ill because of your ignorant habit, who are you gonna cry to?
Seriously, you've made no point that any sane unbiased person with a little bit of sense would agree with. Your point only exists because you smoke or you do something else which a law in your country has made illegal. Therefore you stand on your soap box and say that laws are ridiculous, like a little child who will rebel against its parents because it didn't get its way.
Firstly, the issue is smoking. It isn't Sexuality or the War on Dugs. Whatever the agenda of the government may be, I agree that it causes serious health problems in everyone effected by it and so needs laws to deal with it.
Secondly, your point of view has has nothing to do with the wellfare of others and is mostly fueled by your own personal agenda.
Thirdly, you've replied to nothing anyone has said and instead keep making the same invalid points.
You should realise that it's game over for you.

Really?? O.O In public meaning, anywhere where people can see you? Wow, here it's only banned in indoor places (same as most countries in Europe).

I used to smoke on a regular basis but I've cut it down to like 4 cigs a day, and I'm gonna quit completely in a month

Hah, I love all this “smokers are stupid” attitude... I'm not really a smoker like I said before, but I definitely have to go on the side of the smokers... You guys have no right to complain about smokers, because second hand smoke only affects you when you are exposed to it for long periods of time and regularly on a regular basis...
Therefore, second hand smoke on the streets has much less affect on you than acid rain (which btw today, is all rain)...
Smoking indoors (public places) where the second hand smoke lingers for a long time, is illegal in most countries.
If you're talking about your own home, which I doubt that’s what any of you are talking about, then yes, you have a right to tell the smoker to shove the cig up their arse, but anywhere else, MOVE ON... if smoking is permitted, then you have absolutely no right to tell someone not to smoke... If they're kind enough to stop, great, but if not, don't bitch about it...

And, one final thing… please, stop calling people stupid for smoking, it makes absolutely no sense, and it makes you look like a jerk…

I've never said never in my whole life and i'm sure you can NEVER prove it

Yeah, that's right. Unless it's your own house of course ^_^

Pubs, clubs, bars, taxis, buses, trains, schools, workplaces - pretty much everywhere.

And good I say!

Okay, so if I gave you a pill that made you look cool, and I said, take this it will make you look awesome and it will relax you, [ which is the reasons people have been giving for smoking ] but it will potentially kill you in a few years and you'll die in pain, would you take it? No, I think not. Smoking IS stupid, and even smokers know that. How can you argue that something that can kill you is not stupid? Not only passive smoking can be harmful to your health if, like you said, you are exposed to it for a long time, but smoking smells filthy, it makes you cough, it's terrible if you have asthma, and it makes me feel sick. Why should I put up with that if it's not my habit?
