What's more, if they're ignorant about killing themselves, then they most likely won't give a crap about anything else either if the arguments they pose are shrouded with nonsense. It's the bigger picture which i'm talking about more than anything. Such nonsense breeds more nonsense and clouds peoples judgements.
Also, it's not about being perfect or smart. If there is no will to better yourself though, you are as good as dead.

Also, it's not about being perfect or smart. If there is no will to better yourself though, you are as good as dead.

I know what you're trying to say, but I seriously doubt smokers that know they're killing themselves would ever hurt someone else or even "not" care about anything else. Most people that smoke, know they "could" die from it, but i'm sure they see it as, life is short, so might as well enjoy it... You might not think a cigarette is enjoying life, but i'm sure for smokers it is a wonderful pleasure.

I know but I didn't mean to reply to him rudely, though I think he has realised that now. He is just looking at what I said in a strange fashion which I couldn't have even thought of when I wrote it >.< But he knows now so it's okay

everyone has their own personal reasons to smoke.
most everyone can be grouped into a major category as to why.
Personally, i smoke just to socialize and pass time x]

I didn't mean they wouldn't care about others so literally. What I mean is.. it's something that promotes people to act on their own desires. Perhaps be vain.
I dunno, it would prolly require more than a few sentences to explain but I understand what you mean why people smoke.
I just think it can go deeper than that.

Some would argue that smoking is hurting someone else, because when you are dying of cancer then others are hurting because of your actions, and because they are going to lose you. It would be all well and good if your life did just end, with no pain or suffering, but if you have cancer then it doesn't. Not all smoking leads to cancer, so I guess people are just willing to take that risk.
