I completely don't get the point of smoking, or drinking for that matter. It makes you turn nasty and can have real bad effects on any relationships. I have had a front view of this because of my dad [not saying any more] and I discourage anyone from even trying them.
THey are bad from your body and you are only going to get really sick and loose brain cells. So I repeat DO NOT USE THEM....unless your looking for a way to hell. If so, then be my guest. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Think you can control me? Well you're wrong. Do you see how strong I can be? Do you see how weak I really am. The pages in the book turn, as another chapter in my life closes. I'm a new girl now. One of the future, not the past. To late to dwell on what has come, yet to early to see what is to be. I'm a new girl now, living for the future...not the past.

I get sick whenever i get around cigarette smoke. I remember going to a new years party & almost everyone there were smokers (cept me). The next few days were pretty bad. i had these cold/flu like symptoms (no lie). Since then i avoid people who light up or i'll go to the opposite end of where they area & converse with them loudly (believe you me thats always fun to do )

I think that smokings normal cigarettes that you buy at a store is stupid and not worth it. If you want to smoke tobacco, grow your own without nicotine in it, much more healthier for you. I don't have anything against anyone smoking though as long as they know what it can do to them, I mean it's their life, they can live it however they want.

Though I said this, I am a smoker, but a recent one. Yes, I'm a hypocrite.

To Missa: It's pretty bull that people would hastle you so much about it, and threaten you.

I don't like smoking, any type of it. I've thought about starting, but I don't have the money and I don't want to end up like my grandmother, who died of emphazyma at only 56.( And she started around my age (19)). It was hard since, I had to watch her die and help take care of her pretty much. I don't want to end up like that.

Unfortantly most of my family (both my mom and dad's side) smoke, which I've been around my entire life. My brother has also been affected by it, and he now smokes, and does other stupid stuff, but he's a whole different story. So, I guess what I'm saying is that smoking is bad and if you want to smoke, smoke to your heart's content and even though you may think nothing with happen to you, it can, and it most likely will.

Even though I've been through all this, I don't judge people as bad or good if they smoke. One of my best friends smoke, his sister and I hate that he does, but he's still a really great person. Same with a lot of other people I know. But I plan to live a long life and reach my goals and dreams I've set and I don't need something like smoking holding me back.

Very noble of you. I'm glad to hear that you don't judge people on such things, and that you respect them, and that you have the strength not to smoke even though basically everyone in your family does.

I think it's a disgusting, nasty habit. Smoking makes you stink, turns your nails and teeth yellow, and can give you cancer not to mention making everyone around you sick. Second hand smoke is worse than actually smoking. Most smokers are so inconciderate. They tend to stand right in doorways and they don't care who they smoke around or who it might hurt. I've seen people smoke around their young children, not giving a shit if it makes them sick or gives them cancer later on. Smokers hanging out in doorways have caused my father to go into an asthmatic attack when we come out. I can't stand the smell. It makes me sick. I start coughing like crazy with only the slightest hint of smoke. I live in the U.S. and the legal age is 18. Personally I think it should be banned. It's horrible for your health and as I said second hand smoke is worse for you than actually sucking on the disgusting things. I will never date a smoker. Yuck....just yuck. If the smell makes me sick what would kissing a smoker be like? *shudder*

Maybe from your experinces you've seen people who smoke being rude. But if you tell them, there's the chance they might go somewhere else. I've never experienced it, so I wouldn't really know.

And I'm one of those people who have been around smoking since I was kid (newborn actually-yes, my father still smoked in the house when I was first born, he would just go into another room thinking it was fine-unforantly I think my past experinces are catching up with me-since I've been coughing a lot lately and haven't been sick in months).

People who smoke usually don't think of others when they light up.They have the craving and will get all moody usually from not having a cigrette. And another reason (I think at least) people who smoke around others, don't realizing it's bugging others, since no one usually speaks up.

There's nothing wrong with the example you were given of just how toxic nicotine is.
You inject it quickly - you die quickly. You inhale it slowly - you die slowly.

Cigarette are toxic, exhorbitantly expensive, an immediate danger to the smoker and others (accidental fires - ask any insurance company), makes you and your clothes stink, causes facial wrinkles ad poor complexion, stains your teeth and fingers, stains all furniture, fabric and even windows, it costs the world billions of dollars in healthcare each day that could be better spent on diseases that are not self inflicted, and it really irritates most people in the vicinity whether they tell you so or not.

Basically I don't mind if smokers as long as they don't exhale into the atmosphere that the rest of the planet has to breathe, and smokers pay the medical bills for thr asthma meds that I require anytime I am anywhere near secondhand smoke.

The ones who are inconciderate and will smoke in a closed room or an openroom for that matter without even thinking to ask if others mind are just plain annoying. I don't smoke in closed rooms when there are people who don't smoke and mind, and I don't stand in doorways when i smoke, I don't usually stand in doorways period, it annoys people who are trying to do their own thing.

Nicotine IS a poison. You can make a poison that can kill one full-grown adult male just from extracting the nicotine in one pack of cigarrettes and dropping three drops of it in their mouth.

I don't normally smoke cigs. I do it when I'm stressed out.
I think it's pretty gross and hate the smell of it on me.

You have to be 18 to buy cigs here.
I think less people should smoke because of all those health issues but eh live life.
They wanna smoke let them smoke.
