ivi0nk3y, it's always a pleasure to go head to head with you. The bottom line is we have different moral backgrounds, and nothing is ever going to change that. To you, acts of homosexuality are sins, and to me they are not. I am glad you acknowledge gays and lesbians are born that way, and it isn't a choice that a heterosexual person makes, because that isn't a choice any sane person would make. |

If you had, you would've been more inclined to understand and debate like MMM has and not come up with the same arguments that have been in discussion for the past few pages of this thread. Quote:

i agree with you, eve.
first of all, your teacher was completely out of line in expressing his opinion to the class. although it is acceptable and needed to have differing opinions to have a debate, as a teacher in a position of authority, he should have remained neutral. although i don't know all the laws, i'm pretty sure that he could even be fired for those remarks... your teacher acted disgracefully. secondly... WTF? having sex with your BROTHER OR SISTER is not comparable to a healthy, consensual, adult relationship between two people, who, hey, just happen to be of the same gender. it's like saying that having a babysitter or nanny for your children is comparable to slavery. its simply a difference of lifestyle, homosexual vs. straight, stay-at-home parent vs. busy one... third... i think that all people, (except for pedophiles and other people whose love/lust causes actual physical and mental harm to people), SHOULD BE FREE TO BE WITH WHOEVER THEY WANT. its still love... i'm straight, but i'm on the GSA at my school, and several of my close friends are gay/lesbian/bisexual and i think its horrible that they can't fully express and embrace their love for for people of the same gender simply because of our society. it's depressing. (sorry this post is really long...)

I was summing up what I thought about the discussion as a whole. There would be absolutely no point in debating further than that because I'd just be repeating what MMM has already said. So a small summary paragraph is more useful than a large one nitpicking every single one of your points and repeating exactly what everyone else has said.
