Having children? (not me!) - 05-14-2008, 11:10 PM

Okay, when I read this thread about gay and incest, I began to wonder something. I've read about how when a homosexual couple adopts a child or something, the child likes it, but as he or she grows older, the child gets bullied about it. So, I was wondering, should those couples kind of reconsider this, or at least think about it more? For the sake of the child?

Okay, I'm not saying that the couples shouldn't have them, because everyone should be happy, and if having a kid fills them with it, then so be it. But...well, what do you think?

Gay people should limit their "Gay" when adopting a child... I was working one day and a man was looking for batteries... then his son walks up to him and ask's him something and the guy says "Go back to daddy" How the hell does a 5 year old comprehend having 2 fathers?

dady 1 and daddy two? Or, when I was younger, since I lived with my mom and my siblings since I was 1, my mom always said, "I'm your mom and dad," now that I think about it, that sounds wrong. XP

I know a child of a lesbian couple. I have known him for maybe eight years or so since he was in about the 3rd or 4th grade.

Want to know the amazing thing? No one ever made fun of him. He was self-conscious of his situation, but some of the other kids actually said they thought it was cool he had two mommies.

Some children might get bullied about it, but that shouldn't really be a consideration. By that logic, white parents shouldn't adopt Chinese or black babies, as they may be bullied.

I think gay couples are thinking only about the sake of the child. Shouldn't a child with no parents have someone to love them and take care of them? Isn't that better than hopping from foster home to foster home or living in an orphanage?

I think it's perfectly fine.
Society has become alot more accepting.
I have a friend with two fathers, she's perfectly happy and normal.
Rather popular as well.

Why do you think that would be so hard? It's probably easier for a 5-year-old to accept than a lot of the people on this forum that have been taught to believe homosexuality is wrong. 5-year-olds don't think like that. If all he knows is two daddies, then that will be normal to him.

Also is it better to have same sex marriages adopt the oppoosite sex?

Female/Female adopts a male?

I think it would be much easier to cope with.

Yeah, but society has a way of changing the way a person thinks. (though it's more like school, since nobody would reallyu walk up to you in the street and bully you about your parents, right?)
