Who uses "Genki" textbooks? - 07-11-2008, 08:01 AM

Just wondering...

It's the prescribed textbook by my university. Currently we're on Lesson 18 but I've read ahead a little bit. For all you people who are attempting to learn Japanese on their own, I think it will be very good to use these textbooks as they have CD's and workbooks that you can get also and the textbooks explain things quite well.

To everyone else who studies from these textbooks. Any criticisms?

I think you could. Obviously the classroom environment and having a teacher/tutor helps loads but yeah... you can definitely start from scratch.
