Oh god, not that Robyn!

The other ones are quite popular, though.
haha XD I Personally don't listen to any of those.
The swedish music (with english lyrics of course) that I listen to are like
The Knife, Alice in Videoland and Deathstars and I think they are somewhat famous.

YouTube - the Knife - Heartbeats

YouTube - Alice In Videoland "Badboy"

YouTube - Deathstars - Cyanide

Found some smile.dk stuff on youtube. I never thought to see if they had music videos. lol

Here's one that I've heard a lot in DDR....Butterfly. YouTube - SMiLE.dk Butterfly

YouTube - SMiLE.dk - Mr. Wonderful This is one of my favorites.

YouTube - SMiLE.dk - Doo-Be-Di-Boy

YouTube - SMiLE.dk Boys

Seems that most others are anime videos with smile.dk music. The only full cd I've heard by them is Future Girls, which I really enjoy.

I wouldn't be so sure about particularly Swedish music being popular among the majority of Japans population, however when i did research on Japans Metal scene, i came across a lot of bands that are noting some of Swedish metal performers as their major influences. And indeed if you listen to some them, you can hear quite a bit of similarities. Unfortunately i can not list any other examples besides Blood stain child right now... (since i am way too tired/lazy at this point to look through the list of bands i did research on)...
In the end, when looking at how small the heavy metal music scene is in Japan (in comparison to Europe, for example), i would not expect foreign heavy metal bands to gain much popularity in the mainstream crowd.

When it comes to other genres - as someone wrote before, i truly doubt that they are keen on Swedish music in particular and if some gains success, it's just another foreign band that sings in englishs to them... pretty much like it is all over the rest of this godlike-Swedish-heavy-metal unappreciative world... haha

P.S. In Flames we trust! \m/

In a way swedish music is very big in Japan; Jonny'a Boys has two swedish lyric writers. And from what I've heard they make song for alot of the bands.

Other than that I don't know.

I don't know, I believe that depends on what song it is.
