Help with LCD monitor - 07-23-2008, 11:15 PM

I've had this LCD for some time, quite large for a computer monitor but oh well. (33")

I was wondering if anyone else had an LCD display and can give advice in regards to avoiding images burning into the screen. (if you know what i mean) It's not a huge problem but may become more of a serious issue over time.

Is there a way to avoid this? Or possibly fix it?

LCD's do not get phosphor burn. The LCD version is not permanent and will go away after you turn your screen off for a while.
That or just use a screensaver.

The only thing LCDs can suffer from as far as "burning" in the screen is dead pixels. Which you would be able to tell the difference immediately because it's just that - a dead pixel.

No. LCD's suffer from temporary image burn.

Dead pixels are a different issue.

what i've been experiencing is a sort of temporary "ghost-like" imprint of stationary images on my screen when i bring another window over the old one but they have been going away with time now.

i've just been leaving the monitor on longer that usual but turning it off while afk has solved the problem.

Never had that happen before, but was just talking about dead pixels.

Just set your monitor to turn off after so many minutes. I have mine at an hour of the mouse being idle.
