Real Men get in touch with their "Feminine Side"

I've noticed plenty of threads asking "How many ladies do such and such"~
and... hardly any asking of specifically men~ lol

Anyway, point is, how many of you REAL men out there do "Ladies' " work? o.O"

You know, thing such as
Doing the laundry
Sewing/Repairing clothes
Clean the house/apaato (vacuum, dishes, etc.)
Cook the meals
and other things of the sort x3

MMM 08-12-2008 05:28 AM

Those are ladies jobs? Uh oh....

Exactly what I was gonna say, haha. :/

yuujirou 08-12-2008 05:31 AM

I personally don't feel they are x]
But I do feel that they are generally stereotyped as "ladie's" jobs, lolz

*mind you, i do try too do all those things (and more) that i listed >.>'''*

Asakura 08-12-2008 05:38 AM

You mean like cook, clean, do laundry, sew, Medicate.

Dude I was doing that at 5 years old. I mean my mom was a full-time nurse.

She told me she'd do me a disuvice by not teaching me to do housework.

And after she was disabled I got whole new jobs I don't even want to talk about. Yeah I know my way around a mop and broom.

AmyAki 08-12-2008 05:42 AM

....wow. Guys do these stuff too? Sheesh...i don't do any of those up thier. lol

Funny... I usually end up tripping over the broom >.>''
lol *bad joke*

that's what i was asking about, haha
because around here
kid's aren't worth sh*t
girls can't cook, boys just blow stuff up, both rely on mommy or takeaway
some do chores, other's can't sweep the patio too save their lives (more rather, they won't, lolz)
in my family, out of all the children between the ages of 8-19...
i'm the only one who doesn't need a microwave too live independently >.>''

*of course, all those are just slight exaggerations, lolz*

EveV 08-12-2008 05:46 AM

I do all that stuff
And I'm the most manly man that I know.

Say that one again, please.

DManator 08-12-2008 05:54 AM

When I had my own apartment 2 years ago I did all that. I moved back in with my parents to save money and pay off my credit cards, but I still do all my own work.

ThirdSight 08-12-2008 06:16 AM

I just throw my clothes in the laundry and yell at it until my clothes are washed and dry.

So far, the process has been a complete success.

Altaru 08-12-2008 08:09 AM

I do most of the chores around my house. I'm still in high school, so I live with my parents, but with the exception of laundry (which is gonna come back and bite me in the ass, I know), I do most of those chores.

I love to cook though. Not as much as one of my friends, who brings cookies almost everyday to school, but I love cooking. Until I burn my arm with the oven. Then I stay away for a while, lol.

baking or cooking? x]

those are two major different categories in the culinary profession...
lol

MissMisa 08-12-2008 08:14 AM

I used to do totally nothing, but now we have a chore list and I do the dishes twice a week. Both my parents work full time but my mum does the bulk of the work which isn't particularly fair. So that's why we got a chore list.

Jaydelart 08-12-2008 08:41 AM

I do those jobs. It's only natural... Isn't it?

I mean, I can understand the general concept that men are dirty... But everyone should - at least - be obligated to keep the house and their clothes clean... That shouldn't translate into just a ladies job.

As for sewing...
Well, that's a different story... I could understand that.

Pfff... all part of a bachelors day... erm... week :D
...except for the sewing part... i do repair my clothes only on extreme cases, other than that, i prefer to replace the peace of clothing that has obviously reached its natural end of life.

And i guess you need to be a reaaaly apathetic if you are living on your own and are avoiding all these chores, or you are wealthy enough to eat out of the house regularly (hire a personal cook lol), employ a maid and whatnot :P

well thank you for proving my point >.>'''
those tasks are considered 'feminine' in some cultures/philsophies/whatever more than others....
i feel sewing should be done by everyone
as is everything else listed there....
and if you didn't notice...
xD
that list is just meant as a small set of "possible" examples....
lolz

Sewing is different. It is optional in that there are easier, more convenient alternatives.
It's not like keeping the house clean or washing the dishes... Those things are more basic, and, therefore, apply to a larger population.

Sewing is more of a specific skill -- or even an art.

Eating is basic. Preparing the food is more specific.
But, back on track ~ Not everyone can cook, nor do they have, these days.

... And one could easily live off of McDonalds or Pizza Hut. I'm sure a lot of Americans do already. XP

paul999 08-12-2008 10:00 AM

OH COMON! I do those almost everyday lol...

Hellkite 08-12-2008 10:07 AM

Ladies' work...?

How dare you call it "feminine side"??!!

Pft.

Anyway, I don't do much at home. I put the dishes into the dishwasher, make my bed (:mtongue: ) and cook sometimes. But that's soon going to change... *moving to my own place in... 5 weeks* Awh. I'll still have a maid though ^__^'

NanteNa 08-12-2008 11:19 AM

Jeez. You guys needa stop exaggerating everything the kid says.

Just answer the fracking question. >_>''

Asakura 08-12-2008 01:24 PM

Look if you're a man or a woman you should know how to do these things simply becouse there skills that everyone will find usefull.

Some people call it ladies work, but in all honesty it dosen't look odd if a man does the cleaning. In fact putting this kind of stuff on women is actually more noticeable (Negitively).
