End of the world? -

First, some basic info: here.
NOW, before you say it. This article is from The Sun, which isn't exactly Science magazine, if you catch my drift. So take everything they write with a heap of salt. But the event they mention however, is real and scheduled to happen. A bit better info about the thing: here What I found interesting was mainly that there are scientists who oppose the whole thing, mainly illustrated by prof. Otto Rossler (Division of Theoretical Chemistry, University of Tubingen). You can see his letter here: A Rational, Moral and Spiritual Dilemma. Some info about the suit: The Science of Conundrums: Suit Alleges CERN In Violation Of Human Rights I don't think it will be that dangerous. But this debate is still needed in any case, I think. Should we put limits to what kinds of scientific "tests" we can perform? Where are those limits? When should we just stop and think that "hey, maybe we shouldn't do this... We don't really know enough about this yet". Please don't make this a spam thread, just voice your opinions! |

This is one of does things where you have to wait and see, and most logical thing that can happen is the LHC blowing up and there will be some big troubles for the people inside the LHC and in the surrounding area, and besides time travelling is impossible, i'm almost sure of that, because if you think about it how can you go back in time if the timeline is always moving foward and every second you pass you can't go back in it... Just doesn't sound logical.
But if we don't get of the boot this time we still have 2012... On the Sun website, look to the box on the right side, that cracks me up...XD Score: Eiri: 35 Slykaz1: 43 Rojjin: 32 Yuna7780: 9 reihino:5 Crani:13 Ramones1976:0 AnimeBaby112:2 Arikado:0 |

Huh? Oh it WON'T be the end... I've stayed weeks researching about it.
Actually on 21 December, 2012 the sun will go in the center of Milky Way, also causing a powerful flare, for like it's strongest so far. If it's powerful enough, it could damage earth magnetism stuff, the climate or even swap poles (note that this has happened before, and will result change in climate). There's nothing we can do. Just cross fingers and pray our thin atmosphere can hold it and protect earth. But, if this doesn't happen there is a possibility of a huge terrorism attack, just as it has happened on all such creepy dates. |
