My room sorta forms a 3rd story in away.
We have the second story.
Then you go into the office open a door which leads to stares that go a little little ways up and bam there's my room.
It doesn't really count as a third story though because the " 3rd story" is just my room and it's like 5 steps away from the second story.


Our house was built weird, I'm not sure why, it's old.
So if any room was dangerous mine would be the most.
Like I said though it's all brick and it's survived hurricanes before.

thats the problem they see it on tv and think "that wont happen here" and then they stay in there homes, ingore the evacuation orders and then complain that there house is flooded with them in it, seriously some ppl just dont have common sense

Hopefully both Eva and Yuujiro will end up staying on the north and/or west side of Ike. I just keep thinking how bad Kirby street floods if it even looks like rain.

I don't know why Ike looks worse to me than Camille ('69) when I lived in Biloxi. Its speed is slower and the storm surge is no worse (so far), but my gut says this one is worse. Let's just hope its my age and experience making me more wary of a hurricane3's potential.

Then if a tornado hits the Fort Worth Stockyards tomorrow night, it was nice knowing ya'll. Maybe I will go out riding the wind instead of a bull.
Only half kidding - there's a good chance of us having tornado force winds even if no funnel clouds form around Dallas/Ft. Worth.

You're gut may not be wrong. The Integrated Kinetic Energy (IKE) rating for Ike is higher than the one for Camile. Ike has a IKE rating of 5.2. (Yeah, tell me thats not confusing! ) Camile had a rating of 5.0 and Katrina a 5.1. Basically this means that Ike, while not having as an intense center, is moving more air and water than Camile or Katrina did.

BTW: I'm pretty close to the Fort Worth Stock Yards myself!
