Japanese names for dog/cat?

........................................................................... ..............................

thats a REALLY nice dog...

you could alway's call it TARO....

but it's wise to give your dog 2 names...
one for use everyday...another when things are serios

i used to have a german sheppard cross...
she was called kio...or key....but when things were serios i called her KILLER...
and she knew that was when shit mattered.....

you could REALLY scare people....
"Killer SIT"...and the dog would park its arse immediatly!
say kio sit...and she would sit....but perhaps 5 seconds later...in her own time...

Its got to that time in my life where I'm ready to leave the nest and start my own life in my own home. My girlfriend and I have started looking for houses and were thinking of getting a dog and a cat as pets when we settle down.

For a dog we are looking for a breed called a Utonagan. Its a husky X german sheperd and resembles a wolf.

For the cat I'm thinking of a short haired siamese.

Fancied having a japanese name for each as would be cool. just wondered if anyone had some good ideas? Im thinking maybe okami for the dog? maybe Shodan (word for black belt isnt it? spelling?) Either that or the japanese name for the pokemon Mighteyena which is " グラエナ Guraena ". but I'm unsure what It means.

No ideas for the cat..

Any help would be appreciated muchly!

Name the pet: Gaijin

:D

wouldn't it just confuse the dog, to have two names?
So long as yo use a different tone of voice that should be good enough.

@ SHADOW

as for names, I am really not good at thinking of names for other people's pets, but if I come up with any, I'll post them here.

Aww, but how, it would be an awesome name for the dog.

Like 'Gauff gauff!' Like dog barking sound effect.

and then 'jin, jin' as the cat sound effect.

A unisex and unispecies name for a dog/cat

Gaijin!

.

it won't confuse the dog.

the advantage of having two names as aposed to using tone of voice,
is that 2 names gives you greater flexibility....
dogs are VERY sensetive to things like tone of voice...

if you tell it something in an agressive tone...its going to be in an agressive frame of mind....
but with 2 names....you can still talk in the same calm voice.....

that can avoid escelating the situation...

also i NEVER talked to my dog in an agressive tone.

the best command to teach the dog is the "wait" command...:D

its VERY flexible

huh. I didn't know all this. I didn't mean using an aggressive tone, though. just a more serious one.

I think that happens cuz the dog thinks its name is killer, and when you say "kio sit" she doesnt assosiate that with her untill she realises your looking at her.

no the dog knew her name was "kio"

she was called kio 99% of the time.

training a dog is a rewarding experience if you do it right.

my dog NEVER needed to be on a lead.
because i had trained her right.
infact i could even cycle along the road and have her running down the pavement on the otherside of parked cars...
it's all about teaching the dog about roads...the dog can't go on the road unless you tell it to...

it was quite funny to watch actually because people would shit themselves as this HUGE dog with no collar was sprinting down the pavement, aparently ownerless :P

its also worth doing a bit of attack training just for good measure.

and there is nothing more fun than properly phsycing your dog up....
have him sit down....
hold his neck/collar...and just whisper in a low voice..into it's ear
"Who's that?...who's that lookin' at you?...are gonna get them?...you gonna get them?....who's that...you gonna tell 'em?...."

then if you have done a bit of attack training you say let go and say
"GO ON TELL HIM!!" to get the dog to run up to that person jump on them and then bark in thier face
or
"GO ON..GET 'IM" to get the dog to just straight up attack them...

also if you REALLY want to shit someone up
"killer...GET HIM"
then when the dog is about halfway
"Killer sit!"
then she just sits....its SO funny

My sosn just named his new Goldfish Sushi:)

JackIsLost 12-14-2009 08:44 AM

i posted pictures of my dog a few times here

we gave her a japanese name (sister-in-law which is japanese, helped me name her) Yuki

that dog you posted looks incredibly cool. but finding a dog with a full face mask like that is very hard, it varies so much from full mask to all white (blank).
