No, but one day I'd like to. I try to help other people in other ways though, like through my websites.

I'd love to help a child in need, but I'm pretty wary of those child sponsorship things. I don't really trust that that money gets to the child. >.>

Yeah. I've heard that most of these charities have no legal obligation to give any money to the child or his/her family. I'd be too worried my 13 cents a day would be going right in Mugabe's pocket, like the rest of the African aid money :/

I've always wanted to sponsor a child, but I'm still a "child" myself. But, I'm always doing something to help another person and volunteer with my church... But I'd really love to do this in the next few years.

I think some of them are really quite reliable. World Vision for example.

when i participate in 'charity' i keep it on a local level ... to many people in my own town that are suffering ... doesn't make sense to send money half way around the world...

Sadly, I think like that, too.

Isn't it the uneducated, poor people of the world that are breeding the most? Whereas the wealthier nations have a more stable birthrate? Medicare being the main reason for population growth?

that one person will have a better life though. That's important to me.
