What does "anime style" mean?

Do you want the word translated into Japanese?

leipeic 02-02-2009 07:51 PM

no i want to know how a japanese person would read it, phonetically.

like a word "light" they read "raito"

edit: don't get me wrong, i mean no offense or assume people don't know english...

It's not phonetically... It's katakana. I can see what you mean. You are probably close enough to correct with your attempt at it.

i'm asking cause im making a banner for friends company (for affiliate section), i want to write it in katakana, but dont want to be wrong, that'd be stupid

To answer your question, you are probably pretty close. You may not mean offense, but saying Japanese people speak in "anime style" is not a wise way to ask the question.

You want to ask "How would I write 'affiliate' in katakana?" to make sure not to offend. Most of the Japanese people I know say "affiliate" the same way I do.

leipeic 02-02-2009 08:56 PM

thats right, that would be the correct question! sorry

by saying anime style, i mean they often speak like that in the animes, afaik

But if this is for a banner, you want a translation, not the pronunciation, right?

leipeic 02-02-2009 09:38 PM

i need the pronunciation for example for "light" i would need:

raito
らいと
(but in katakana, i dont know how to write in katakana)

thanks

You lost me...you don't write pronunciations...I am not sure what you are trying to achieve.
